Diploma granted to secondary school graduates by Ontario, Canada. OSSD is recognized by most universities in USA, Canada, UK, Hongkong, Australia, and other English-speaking countries.

Physical Education

Our Physical Education program encourages students to lead active, healthy lifestyles while building teamwork and leadership skills. With a variety of sports, fitness activities, and wellness education, students gain lifelong skills and an appreciation for physical well-being in a supportive and engaging environment.

What Are the Requirements to Graduate?

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) Requirements

Students who complete high school successfully receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), granted by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

To qualify for the OSSD, students must:

  • Complete 18 required credits

  • Earn 12 elective credits

  • Pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)

  • Fulfill 40 hours of community service

Compulsory Credits


Students need 18 compulsory credits, as follows:

  • 4 credits in English (one per grade)

  • 1 credit in a second language

  • 3 credits in mathematics (including at least one in Grade 11 or 12)

  • 2 credits in science

  • 1 credit each in Canadian history and geography

  • 1 credit in arts

  • 1 credit in health and physical education

  • 0.5 credit in civics

  • 0.5 credit in career studies

Plus:

  • 1 additional credit in English, third language, social sciences, or cooperative education

  • 1 additional credit in health, arts, business studies, or cooperative education

  • 1 additional credit in Grade 11 or 12 science, computer science, or tech education

 

Optional Credits

Students must complete 12 optional credits in courses of their choice.

Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)
All students must pass the OSSLT, an assessment by the EQAO that tests literacy based on the Ontario Curriculum up to Grade 9


Community Involvement

 

Students must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement to graduate, fostering civic responsibility. Hours can be earned throughout high school, with international students eligible for partial credit for relevant prior service.
